Simulation to answer various training needs

For future drivers:

  • Screening before hiring

For inexperienced drivers:

  • Initial qualification, especially in Europe on a simulator compliant with the national translation of the Directive 2003/59
  • Observance of the rules of the road, including bus/tram specific signals
  • Speed control to avoid running off the road or derailment
  • Manoeuvring: pivot point, gauge mastering

For experienced drivers:

  • Continuous Training, especially in Europe on a simulator compliant with the national translation of the Directive 2003/59
  • Safe driving: forward-looking, brake-readiness
  • Driving around vulnerable road users: two-wheeled, pedestrians
  • Driving in difficult conditions: at night time, with rain, with snow, on steep slopes
  • Fuel-efficient driving
  • Driving for preserving passenger comfort and minimizing vehicle wear
  • Quality of service, accuracy of stoping on stations and punctuality
  • Taking care of people with reduced mobility
  • Reversing with an articulated or double-articulated bus

  • Handling of vehicle failures
  • Managing obstructions of the road/track
  • Conversion to another bus type (articulated, hybrid)
  • Conversion from bus to tram

Post-accident remedial training:

  • Accident reconstruction, by placing the driver in similar conditions
  • Vehicle and on-board devices mastering; simulation allows to train drivers before the vehicle enters into service

When building new lines or discovering new routes:

  • Line knowledge/recognition; simulation allows to train drivers on future routes or on routes not in service yet

When purchasing new vehicles:

  • Vehicle and on-board devices mastering; simulation allows to train drivers before the vehicle enters into service

When building new lines or discovering new routes:

  • Line knowledge/recognition; simulation allows to train drivers on future routes or on routes not in service yet
